Practice Information

Green Lane Surgery is located in the heart of Essex in Dagenham, situated on Green Lane around 3 miles from Romford; the Practice has two GPs who are assisted by other medical and administrative support staff.

Around 10 people are employed by the practice.

The practice provides a full personal medical service and is involved in the management of many chronic diseases as well as offering a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and general check-ups.

Zero Tolerance

This Practice adopts a ZERO TOLERANCE approach to violence and aggression.

Aggressive and violent behaviour is considered to be any personal, threatening or abusive language (cursing or swearing), gestures (including sexual), physical contact, derogatory sexual or racial remarks, shouting at any persons or applying force to any Practice property or the property of any persons within the Practice.

This includes people banging on desks or counters or shouting loudly in an intimidating manner; our staff and patients have the right to feel safe and secure while in these premises.

Patients considered to be offending against this policy will be prompted to change their behaviour and asked to leave the premises. Please note that smoking and eating is not allowed on surgery premises.

We also ask that our patients don’t use their mobile phones unless absolutely necessary.


Governance

Residents in Barking and Dagenham are covered under North East London CCG, which is responsible for ensuring our patients receive all the medical services that they might require. Green Lane Surgery works closely with the CCG as they currently commission us to provide various primary care needs to our geographic catchment area.


Performance

The Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) is the annual reward and incentive programme detailing GP practice achievement results. QOF awards surgeries achievement points for:

-Managing some of the most common chronic diseases e.g. asthma, diabetes

– How well the practice is organised

– How patients view their experience at the surgery

– The amount of extra services offered such as child health and maternity services.

Complaints

We take complaints very seriously. Our aim is to give you the highest possible standard of service and we try to deal swiftly and thoroughly with any problems that may occur.

Green Lane Surgery operates a practice complaints procedure as part of the NHS system for dealing with complaints. Our system meets national criteria.

If you would like to make a complaint regarding the surgery or the services we offer, please ask at reception for details of the complaints procedure or speak with our Practice Manager.


The Care Quality Commission (CQC)

CQC monitor, inspect and regulate services to make sure we meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and they publish what they find, including performance ratings to help people choose care.
